Jamie York: Personal Brand Refresh

Jamie York is a dynamic entrepreneur, mentor, and social media influencer with a YouTube channel boasting over 100,000 subscribers. The objective of this project was to revitalize Jamie’s personal branding, ensuring it resonated with the "everyman" brand archetype—approachable, relatable, and engaging.

My approach centered on redesigning the YouTube homepage, crafting visually compelling thumbnails, and refining the overall messaging. Special attention was given to playful and impactful use of text and typography, enhancing the brand's personality while keeping Jamie’s charisma at the forefront. As the face of the brand, Jamie’s unique energy and authenticity were woven seamlessly into every design element to create a cohesive and engaging digital presence.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The design of these paid ads for social media, I created innovative and creative examples that effectively utilise text to capture users attention and stop them mid-scroll.

This approach allows us to communicate our message succinctly while embodying Jamie’s straight-forward and no-nonsense personality. By doing so, we aim to resonate deeply with the ‘everyman’ archetype of the brand, making our message both relatable and impactful.

BRAND BOARD

I developed a comprehensive brand board that included social media visualisations, a revised YouTube homepage design, and detailed brand guidelines.

Building on the existing typeface and colour palette, I introduced a darker shade of blue and a modern handwritten-style typeface to infuse the brand with added personality and depth. These updates brought a fresh, cohesive feel to the brand while preserving its original identity.

YOUTUBE DESIGNS

In these designs, my primary focus was on revitalising the overall aesthetic and brand consistency of Jamie's YouTube homepage, his most popular social media platform.

It was essential that every design element, from the cover image to the profile picture and thumbnail graphics, communicated a cohesive brand message.

The emphasis remains on bold typography, utilising yellow as a striking highlight against a darker backdrop. Our goal is to embrace a ‘less is more’ philosophy, capturing attention swiftly and effectively.
